Tui merges ski and specialist divisions

Two senior jobs are going as Tui Travel merges its ski and specialist divisions.

Mathew Prior, currently managing director of Tui Ski, will take the same role in the newly formed Specialist Holiday Group with ski finance head Colin Parselle as finance director.

Ian Simkins and Rory Verner, currently managing director and finance director of the Tui UK & Ireland Specialist Division, have decided to pursue other opportunities, the company said.

Simon Cross, Tui Ski commercial director, is promoted to managing director of the ski business, reporting to Prior.

The newly formed Specialist Holidays Group, incorporating 19 specialist brands including Austravel, Citalia, Sovereign and Hayes & Jarvis, will have more than 500,000 customers.

Specialist and Activity sector managing director John Wimbleton said: “In the short space of time that I have worked directly with Ian Simkins and Rory Verner I have been very impressed.

“I would like to thank both of them for their hard work over the last seven years which has consistently driven a large amount of change and created a lot of value for what is now a significant UK and Irish business.

“I am confident that Mathew with this leadership team will build on and ensure the continued success of this exciting new division.”

Prior has been with the group for nine years and since the First Choice merger in 2007 has led the Tui Ski division businesses including Crystal Ski, Thomson Ski and First Choice Ski as well as the International Mountain Hotels group based in France.

Parselle has been with the group for six years and Cross 18 years.
