Park to leave in NCL ‘consolidation’

Norwegian Cruise Line UK general manager Stephen Park is leaving as part of European consolidation by the company.

The US line is merging its two European businesses into one organisation based in Germany under the leadership of general manager Michael Zengerle. The rest of the UK team will remain in place.

“Given the importance of the United Kingdom within the line’s European business, the company will continue to focus on the UK market through its existing office in the UK, along with its European headquarters based in Germany,” a statement said.

“As a result of the re-organisation the company also announced that Stephen Park, general manager of the UK office, is leaving the company.”

The changes are being made because of the significant growth of the company’s European business, NCL said. Park was recently appointed chairman of the Passenger Shipping Association cruise section, a role he will now relinquish.
