The staycation trend helped Butlins and Haven parent Bourne Leisure boost profits by more than £30 million last year.
Latest figures filed at Companies House show profits rise from £54.8 million in 2008 to £87.9 million based on sales increasing by 6.3% to more than £790 million.
The company was aided by growth in short and weekend breaks as well as a shift towards more domestic holidays.
“Guest loyalty and repeat business underpins the long-term growth of the business,” the company said.
It expects further sales and profits growth this year.
The private company was founded in 1964 for chairman Peter Harris and is majority owned by his and two other families.
