Wildlife and adventure travel specialist Wildfoot Travel has recruited a strategic partnerships manager as part of a drive to work more closely with the trade.
Michael Gardiner joins from Insights Adventure Travel where he was head of sales and business development for more than two years and has more than 15 years of experience in the travel industry.
The operator also aims to appoint a second manager to join the business development team to help boost trade relations and capitalise on growth.
Its strategy follows a recent merger with villa specialist Villa Retreats, and a bid to increase trade sales to 40% of total revenue over the coming year.
A white-label site has been created for trade partners to sell the operators’ products, and two new expert-led expeditions have been added to the range of holidays.
They are a photography masterclass safari in Namibia and a Falklands wildlife and birding expedition.
Other destinations featured by Wildfoot Travel include the polar regions, Russia’s Far East, India, Latin America and the Galapagos.
