Hotel brand Anantara is plotting to open more urban style hotels in European cities.
The luxury brand is known for its resort properties in destinations such as Thailand and the Maldives, however over the next year it is set to announce more city-based properties.
Last month Anantara announced its first European urban hotel, with the brand taking over The Marker in Dublin. The property will reopen under a new name and as part of the Anantara collection next year.
Speaking to Travel Weekly at WTM, a spokeswoman for Anantara said more would follow.
“We’re expecting to open more urban hotels in Europe, this might be rebranding some of our other brands, such as hotels which are currently part of the NH Collection.
“It’ll be great to raise our profile more in Europe by having a greater footprint here.
“Europe is a big source market for a lot of our other hotels and there’s opportunity to grow that further through brand awareness.”
