The Tenerife Tourism Corporation has welcomed the introduction of new summer flights from Scotland to the island.
Budget carrier Jet2.com is to fly twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays from Glasgow between April 1 and November 4, 2011 with fares starting at £56.99 one-way.
The airline’s sister company Jet2holidays will offer holidays to Tenerife with prices for a seven-nights starting at £329 per person based on half-board accommodation in Playa de las Americas.
Tenerife Tourism Corporation travel industry director Pia Louw said: “We are delighted that Jet2.com has recognised Tenerife’s ever-growing popularity in the UK market and that these new flights will introduce even more British holidaymakers to our beautiful island.
“The airline’s impressively low fares will make it possible for Brits to visit Tenerife very cheaply and we look forward to welcoming even more UK tourists to our shores.”
