Amadeus updates Negotiated Fares software

AMADEUS has made enhancements to its Negotiated Fares tool allowing UK agents to view both published and negotiated fares on a single screen.

Previously the tool displayed special low fares negotiated between airlines and travel agencies. But the system published fares on different screens, requiring agents to switch between the two when finding fares for a client. The tool is currently used by 81 airlines and more than 30 travel agency chains worldwide.

Amadeus says the improved product is quicker, easier to use and can perform a search through both published and negotiated fares, evaluating hundreds of alternate travel options.

Agents are shown the least expensive available fares matched with the most convenient itinerary proposals without having to jump from screen to screen.

Amadeus claims almost half of all multi-national travel agencies issue tickets at negotiated-fare rates, establishing the need for simplified distribution tools for negotiated fares management.

The previous Negotiated Fares product has been in use by the travel industry for the past five years.

Amadeus UK managing director Graham Nichols said: “Basically this gives agents more time to spend with their customers. The tool is still simple to use but improved to give them the best fare possible in a quicker time because they don’t have to go in and out of different screens.”

The enhancements to Negotiated Fares give agents the tools to generate more revenue and to meet the needs of their clients.
