Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando is preparing to open Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance in Disney’s Hollywood Studios park.
The new ride will open in the Star Wars-themed area, Galaxy’s Edge, on Thursday.
It will welcome guests to join the ‘resistance’ in a battle against the tyrannical First Order.
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opened earlier this year and the attraction is the second to open in the area following Millenium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run.
Guests will board a starship to blast off to planet Batuu, only to be captured by the First Order, come face to face with Stormtroopers and Kylo Ren, and forced to escape a Star Destroyer on an adventure of cinematic scale.
The attraction is being billed as one of the most technologically advanced and immersive experiences in Disney history, utilising multiple ride systems to blur lines between fantasy and reality.
The attraction will also open at Disneyland Resort in California on January 17, 2020.
