InterContinental Hotels Group is to open 37 new hotels in the UK, creating more than 3,000 jobs.
The group, which includes brands such as InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza and Hotel Indigo, has unveiled plans to open more than 1,200 hotels worldwide, creating a total 160,000 jobs.
New posts will include management, hotel porters, waiting and bar staff.
No timeframe was given for the creation of the new UK jobs, although the company said the new hotels would open “over the next few years”.
Chief executive Andy Cosslett said: “We are the world’s biggest hotel group and investment in new hotels and the people that make them successful is vital to our growth.
“Whether you want to be a hotel porter, waiter or manager, in Birmingham, Bangkok or Berlin, we offer a terrific range of opportunities”.
