Southend airport gains new Spanish destination

Southend airport is to gain flights to Girona in Spain with a new Ryanair service next summer.

The no-frills carrier is to run two flights a week to the Catalan city located between Barcelona and the Costa Brava.

The service starts in April as part of Ryanair’s summer schedule from Southend with flights available to book until October.

The airline marked the announcement of the new route by issuing fares leading in at £14.99 for travel until the end of March in a flash sale running until midnight on Friday.

Joint advertising marketing manager Eimear Ryan said: “Ryanair is pleased to launch a new London Southend route to Girona in Spain, commencing in April, which will operate twice weekly as part of our summer 2020 schedule.

“Customers in London Southend can now book flights to Girona as far out as October 2020.”
