Royal Caribbean International’s first Quantum Ultra Class ship is to sail in the eastern Mediterranean in its debut summer season.
Odyssey of the Seas enters service in November 2020 in the Caribbean from Fort Lauderdale before re-positioning to its summer 2021 home port of Rome (Civitavecchia).
A series of seven, nine and 12-night itineraries will run from May 2021 covering the Greek islands, Italy and Israel.
The line’s 27th ship will carry up to 4,800 passengers with features including a RipCord by iFLY sky-diving adventure, a North Star glass observation capsule that takes passengers more than 300 feet above the ocean and a two-deck high Two70 entertainment venue.
The line’s chief executive Michael Bayley said: “Odyssey will set the standard for delivering unforgettable European adventures, on which holidaymakers will cruise to an exceptional combination of destinations that are in a league of their own as well as the most popular ports in the eastern Mediterranean.
“With extended stays and overnights, Royal Caribbean is combining amazing itineraries with our game-changing ship to create a truly one-of-a-kind Europe vacation.”
