Next year’s Aito operators’ conference will be combined with the association’s agents’ overseas conference after concerns over falling delegate numbers.
Speaking at the end of the conference in Brussels, chairman Derek Moore said attendance numbers had been falling in the past few years.
Now, in a bid to reverse the decline, the conference will be moved to June and be held at the same venue as the Specialist Travel Agents’ (STA) overseas conference.
The new conference will feature both combined sessions and ones running in tandem for operators or agents only.
Moore said: “Hopefully this will be a win-win change and being in June a little warmer.”
STA chairman Oliver Broad added: “It is a fantastic opportunity as we celebrate 35 years of Aito and 15 years of Aito agents for both organisations to come together and hold their conferences together for the first time.”
The venue for the combined conference will be announced at the Aito STA domestic conference in Warwick in January.
