Luxury hotel group von Essen has launched a centralised booking system with its own team of reservations staff.
The ‘von Escapes’ booking service means agents and operators call a central phone line to gain access to bookings across all 31 hotels in the group.
The service, open from 09.00-19.00 Monday to Friday, will also be available for direct bookings by consumers.
“The main aim of this initiative is to increase the effectiveness of the sales process and call conversion,” a spokesman said.
“It will provide a seamless service for UK, European and International travel consultants and increase revenue through cross-referral.
“If a particular hotel is full or a request cannot be accommodated, the reservations team has access to booking information across the collection and can suggest or recommend other suitable hotels in the group, according to guest requirements.”
The company stressed that the new booking service was not a replacement for reservations teams at individual hotels but “an extension to the service von Essen wishes to offer”.
