Jet2.com launches ski website

A ski and snowboarding website to help holidaymakers better plan trips has been created by Jet2.com as it starts winter flights from six UK airports.

The microsite at www.Jet2.com/ski aims to  help travellers research their trips with information covering resorts, weather reports and live ‘snow cams’ so conditions can be viewed in real time.

The site also includes the ability to search by type of resort in a ‘Best For…’ section, to help users find the right destination.

The airline is running flights to Geneva from Belfast, East Midlands, Edinburgh and Newcastle; Chambery from east Midlands and Salzburg from Edinburgh and Manchester. Fares start at £14.99 one way including taxes.

The airline’s chief executive Philip Meeson said: “Although the weather in the UK may well have seen people reaching for their skis or snowboards recently, it’s not quite the same as heading to the breathtaking ski areas of the Alps.

“If travellers log on to our new website, it will help keep them updated on the conditions, as well as making planning a trip easier and more enjoyable.”
