Kuoni is expanding its business in Belgium with the purchase of Brussels-based operator Best Tours from liquidation for an undisclosed sum.
Best Tours posted turnover of 38 million euros in the 2009/10 financial year and specialises in selling long haul and beach holidays in Belgium and France.
Kuoni said it was taking over the business activities of the operator.
“The company is currently in liquidation. The parties agreed not to divulge the purchase prices involved,” Kuoni said.
Best Tours employs 35 full time staff and focuses on travel to Thailand, China, Vietnam, South Africa and Egypt.
Confirming that the brand will be retained, Kuoni group chief executive Peter Rothwell said: “With the acquisition of Best Tours’ travel activities Kuoni takes an important step forward in the Belgium market to reach relevant size for further business.”
