Hotel review: Cap Maison, St Lucia

The lowdown: Set at the northern tip of Saint Lucia, near Pigeon Island, five-star Cap Maison is a hotel with a home-from-home feeling – if your home is a luxurious one.

Accommodation: Spanish Caribbean-style villas are dotted through expansive gardens on top of a bluff next to the sea. There are traditional hotel rooms and suites, but also huge villa suites with fully fitted kitchens, lounges and private pools, offering the feel of a villa holiday with the benefit of hotel facilities.

Facilities: There’s a small main pool with loungers adjacent to the hotel’s restaurant, The Cliff at Cap, which has gorgeous views out to Pigeon Point. There are spa and gym facilities, and the beach is only a short walk down some steps.

We loved: Guests can even charter the hotel’s 46ft motor launch for a day cruise, so they can feel as if they have their own private yacht, as well as their own Saint Lucian villa.
