Contiki appoints new global chief executive

Contiki has appointed former Silversea Australia and New Zealand managing director Adam Armstrong as its new global chief executive.

He will be based in Geneva with a start date yet to be announced.

Armstrong was senior vice president and managing director of Silversea Cruises – Australia & New Zealand for two years.

He has previously held roles at Royal Caribbean Cruises, Carnival and Tui.

Former Contiki chief executive James Marchant left the company last year and has been overseen by TTC director David Hosking and TTC global chief executive Brett Tollman.

Tollman, chief executive of Contiki parent The Travel Corporation (TTC), said: “I am delighted to welcome Adam into our TTC family with his extensive industry experience and his success in helping the long-term growth of his previous brands.

“His dynamic and passionate leadership style to further inspire and engage our teams as well as his innovative and strategic approach and relationships with our agent partners, will all be real assets in taking the world leader in youth travel to new heights.”

Armstrong said: “I am excited to join Contiki and help bring Gen-Z and millennial travellers together to discover the world across 350+ adventures.”
