Endacott rejects Thomson bid

CARLSON Companies vice-president e-commerce Steve Endacott is expected to set up his own business after rejecting an opportunity to join Thomson (Travel Weekly September 20).

Endacott is returning to the UK after only six months because his family could not settle in the US and is thought to be recruiting for his new venture.

It is believed he was offered the position of deputy managing director at Thomson, reporting to current deputy MD Shaun Powell, who would have moved up to MD.

Powell, who was responsible for the creation of Thomson’s new no-frills brand Just, declined to comment on the story or rumours that he is due to be promoted. Endacott was unavailable for comment.
