British man charged after making hoax bomb threat

A British man has been charged with making a bomb hoax following an incident on board an aircraft which was diverted to Stansted.

The Etihad Airways aircraft from Abu Dhabi was due to land at Heathrow before its destination was changed. The flight was redirected yesterday after the pilot reported a disruptive passenger.

Two RAF Typhoon fighter jets were scrambled during the incident on Monday morning. James Glen (37), of Chard in Somerset, is due before Harlow magistrates later today.
