Ryanair will operate four new routes from Manchester to Alicante, Faro, Madrid and Tenerife, chief executive Michael O’Leary announced this morning.
The low cost airline will also increase the frequency of its Manchester to Dublin route from four to six flights a day.
A new twice weekly route from Humberside AIport to Alicante will start from 12 April.
The new fares go on sale tomorrow (Thursday 27 January) and flights begin on 14 April in time for the Easter holidays.
O’Leary has vowed to undercut the other airlines flying from Manchester, which include EasyJet, Jet2.com, Flybe and bmibaby.
Speaking at a press conference, he said: “We expect Ryanair’s five Manchester routes to deliver 600,000 passengers and sustain 600 jobs in Manchester while saving passengers over £6 million on the fares offered by Manchester’s high fare airlines.”
