John Wilson has been named Celebrity Cruises’ sales director for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) after leaving Royal Caribbean International.
In the newly-created role, Wilson will work alongside Claire Stirrup, the line’s UK and Ireland director of sales, to support Jo Rzymowska, Celebrity’s vice president and managing director, EMEA.
In January, the line announced its EMEA operation would be run from the UK as part of parent company’s Royal Caribbean Cruises’ restructure, which was announced in November.

Royal Caribbean unveils raft of changes to trade sales team
Royal Caribbean Cruises’ tri-branded EMEA team was previously spread over several sites across the region.
The line said Wilson’s position was created as part of the line’s “new single-branded global structure” and that he would be “recruiting a team to have a dedicated focus on the region”.
Wilson worked at Royal, where he was head of direct and digital for nearly two years and head of consumer outreach, UK and Ireland, for two and a half years.
Before Royal, Wilson held several roles at Virgin Holidays, including head of cruise, and worked for Tui.
