Bookings up at Center Parks as upgrade nears

Bookings at Center Parcs are up by 4% on the time last year with more than three quarters being made online. The company expected to take an average of at least one booking per minute for the entire month of January.


Figures filed at Companies House by its private equity owners Blackstone Group showed a profit of £43 million at Center Parcs on a turnover of £280 million in the year to April 22, 2010.


Occupancy rates for the period increased to 97.3% and spend per day was £27.77, according to weekend reports. The short breaks specialist, with parks in Wiltshire, Nottinghamshire, Suffolk and Cumbria, is undergoing a £200 million upgrade of its sites as well as planning a fifth in Woburn in Bedfordshire.
