British Airways has started codeshare flights from Heathrow with Russian carrier S7 Airlines.
BA’s code will be placed on selected domestic Russian routes operated by S7 and its subsidiary Globus, while S7’s code will be placed on all the UK carrier’s services between Moscow and London.
The codeshare flights will operate on S7 services between Moscow and Krasnodar, Rostov-on-Don, Samara, Ekaterinburg, Kazan, Chelyabinsk, Kaliningrad, Krasnoyarsk and Ufa.
Passengers will be able to book flights on each other’s websites and earn frequent flyer points on the codeshare routes.
The deal follows S7’s recent entry into the BA-led Oneworld Alliance.
BA Europe and Africa general manager Gavin Halliday described Russia as an important market for the airline.
“The codeshare with S7 will give our customers much better access to many more cities across Russia and help S7 customers take advantage of better links to Heathrow Terminal 5,” he said.
