Rising levels of business travel helped boost British Airways and Iberia parent company International Airlines Group in February.
IAG reported an 8.2% rise in premium traffic for the month over February 2010 but economy was almost static at 0.2% up. Group traffic measured in revenue passenger kilometres rose by 1.4% over February 2010.
“We continue to focus on yield over load factor, with the aim of maximising revenue, and expect this trend to persist as we experience the bounce back from the disrupted H1 2010,” the company said.
Travel to Latin America, the Caribbean and Asia showed the strongest growth in the month.
