BLUEBIRD Holidays has added upmarket coach tours and self-drive itineraries based on four-wheeled drive Jeeps and Volkswagen’s new Beetle.
The coach-based holidays are branded as either Connoisseur or Classic tours and feature itineraries in the east and west, the Rockies, and the US.
Packages include accommodation and a number of meals, with a 13-day Eastern Connoisseur trip going to Toronto, Niagara, Ottawa, Mont Tremblant, Quebec City and Montreal, for £1,355 excluding flights.
New to Bluebird’s flydrive section is a 14-day Beetlemania British Columbia itinerary starting from Vancouver in the new VW Bug, from £769 twinshare including accommodation but not flights.
The debut Rockies – an off-road package of 15 days is also from Vancouver, but takes in Alberta as well as BC. The twinshare price is £979 including accommodation and 12 days’ rental of a Jeep Wrangler.
Product manager Patrick Richardson said: “We have had huge demand for coach tours so we decided to put this selection in the 2000 programme.
“But the brochure shows just an example of the range of modular product that is available in our reservations system. We have other touring combinations and city stays that can be added to packages featured in the main programme.”
He claimed that Bluebird’s bookings are already 20% up on this time last year, with best-selling products including the Rocky Mountaineer rail trip and mini-breaks combining eastern cities and Niagara Falls.
