EasyJet cancels flights due to strike in Italy

EasyJet has been forced to cancel more than a dozen flights today due to a general strike in parts of Italy.

Two Gatwick to Venice departures are among the services grounded together with flights to the Italian city from Berlin and Paris. The budget airline has also dropped Italian domestic services between Rome and Venice.

The 24-hour transport sector general strike is expected to be followed by another on March 23 involving pilots and cabin crew at Alitalia and Air One.
