Selby to leave Thomson Cruises after 11 years

Long-standing Thomson Cruises director David Selby is leaving the company.

He is stepping down after 11 years of leading the operator’s cruise division to “pursue career opportunities elsewhere in the industry”. Parent company Tui UK and Ireland is recruiting a new director for its cruise arm. A successor is expected to be announced in the next few weeks.

Selby will begin a period of “leadership transition” and handover at the end of March, the company said. Tui UK and Ireland commercial director David Burling said: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank David for all his efforts in building the Thomson Cruises business.

“In that time he has overseen the transformation of the business from offering a variety of  third party ship charters, to a fleet of fully branded ships that form one of the largest UK cruise operations. I would particularly like to thank David for the passion and commitment he has given the organisation over the last 25 years.”
