Crystal cancels call to Mazatlán due to rising violence

Crystal Cruises has cancelled a call to Mazatlán citing increased reports of violence in the Mexican port town.

The “Treasures of Mexico” voyage from Loa Angeles on Crystal Symphony will be adjusted to account for missing the Mazatlán call on April 4.

The revised ten-night schedule departing on March 31 switches travel days to give an overnight call in Cabo San Lucas.

Subsequent days will include a full day in Loreto and a half day in La Paz.  Full days in Puerto Vallarta and San Diego are still on the schedule.

International sale and marketing vice president Philip Ordever said: “The safety and security of our guests and staff is always our top priority.

“After monitoring the situation in Mazatlán for weeks, we simply feel far more comfortable with other ports of call in Mexico.”
