HERTZ has teamed up with Marriott Hotels to offer customers weekend breaks that include car rental at any one of six of the group’s properties within a 2hr drive of London.
Prices for the package, which is aimed specifically at providing a getaway break for Londoners, leads in at £94 per room per night including the car. Customers have the choice of either a Ford Focus or Fiat Seicento.
Hertz UK general manager Neil Cunningham said the package has been put together to meet a growing trend away from car ownership among people who live in the big cities.
“Our research has shown that more and more people in the capital are renting cars as and when they need them, as an alternative to actually owning them, so we are anticipating that this package will be a great success,” he added.
The six Marriott hotels that have been included in the new package are Tudor Park in Maidstone; Goodwood Park in Chichester; Meon Valley in Southampton; St Pierre in Chepstow; Hanbury Manor in Hertfordshire; and Forest of Arden in Warwickshire.
n Hertz has opened a rental location in St Petersburg, inside the arrivals terminal at Pulkovo Airport.
The location is the first to be set up in the city by an international company and is offering either self-drive or chauffeur-driven cars.
It is also the first location in Russia to offer one-way rentals for clients who want to rent a car and drive to Moscow.
