Cathay Pacific launches national sales drive
CATHAYPacific has launched a national sales campaign to try and boost this winter’s business and leisure bookings to Hong Kong.
Customers will receive additional frequent-flyer points, free accommodation, airport transfers and excess baggage allowances for full-fare bookings on Heathrow and Manchester flights to Hong Kong.
The offer will run until November 30.
A spokeswoman said the aim was to attract first-time passengers and reward regular customers.
The campaign will also highlight Cathay’s reciprocal frequent-flyer agreement with Oneworld partner British Airways. BA’s Executive Club members will gain triple Air Miles.
The spokeswoman said first-class passengers receive triple miles and business travellers double points and free first night accommodation.
Economy customers paying full fare will qualify for free transfers and lounge access at Hong Kong’s Chek Lap Kok airport.
Meanwhile, the airline has confirmed it will be keeping agents’ commission levels at 9%.
A report in the bank settlement plan bulletin claimed the airline was cutting basic rates to 7%.
