US-BASED hotel reservation service provider WorldRes.com has strengthened its European operations with the appointment of a London-based European regional managingdirector.
Wolfgang Kitza has been brought in from German on-line Internet company Cityweb Network to run the European business. He will be responsible for attracting more hotels onto the distribution system. World-Res.com currently has 10,000 independent and chain properties in its reservations databank.
With more than half of the properties in North America, the two-year-old company wants to redress the balance and sign up a greater number of hotels outside its home base.
A spokesman for World-Res.com said the company was targeting a mix of hotels in cities and resorts.
