BA flights to Malaga return to Gatwick

British Airways flights to Malaga have returned to Gatwick after two years operating from Heathrow.

The airline will run up to four daily flights on selected days to the Andalucian gateway city, offering 27 a week from June.

This represents a doubling of the frequency offered from Heathrow. The Malaga flights last operated from Gatwick in summer 2009.

The airline’s head of commercial at Gatwick Colm Lacy said: “We are delighted to be increasing the number of flights to Malaga from 14 services a week and moving the flight back from Heathrow to Gatwick.

“Malaga is an important route for our customers and we are delighted to add it to the excellent short haul network we have at Gatwick.”

The move means that BA is serving 29 European destinations from the airport out of a total of 47 and expects to carry more than 4.5 million passengers a year.
