Shearings strengthens sales team

Three new senior appointments have been made by Shearings to strengthen the company’s sales and marketing functions and to increase support for agents.
 
Emily Bates has become marketing director for Shearings Holidays to oversee the marketing and ecommerce strategy. She previously held senior marketing positions at Thomas Cook, MyTravel and Butlins.
 
Douglas Whittaker has become sales and marketing director at Shearings Hotels, with responsibility for the company’s portfolio of 50 Bay and Coast&Country hotels. He has previous experience with Malmaison Hotels in Prague and Louvre Hotels.
 
Jo Allen has been appointed as national sales manager for the Southern England region, described as an area of increasing strategic importance for the business. Working directly with agents, Allen’s role is to drive sales in the south and to raise awareness of the growing Shearings product portfolio, with a focus on air, rail and cruise holidays.
 
The appointments follow Ruth Connor joining last year as managing director of Shearings Holidays, while Vince Flower continues in his role as managing director of Shearings Hotels.
