King World Travel is to become a franchisee of Cruise118 after its buyout by Minoan Group.
The agency, which has six shops in Scotland, was bought out by the resort development company last month.
The agency will be the exclusive franchisee of Cruise118 in the Scottish travel market, which the Minoan Group estimates had a total transaction value of about £200m last year.
The agreement is expected to be signed in the next two weeks and lasts for three years, with an option for a further three.
Minoan said the deal would enhance its online presence, supplementing King World Travel’s website theholidaysearch.com, which Minoan intends to market as an online travel agency.
Minoan chairman Christopher Egleton said: “We are delighted to have made further headway in growing our travel and leisure business.
“This is an important area for growth as far as Minoan is concerned – with the ultimate aim of creating a travel business which will improve profits incrementally through management input, synergies and marketing. This, in turn will underpin the development of our project in Crete as well as create a valuable stand alone business.”
