Former Jet2holidays managing director Richard Bodin has teamed up again with his former colleague Mandy Round after taking up a role at Lowcost Travel Group.
Bodin will be working on the Lowcost joint venture with EasyJet, EasyJet Holidays, with Round on the other side having started at the low cost airline.
Round, the former Jet2holidays general manager, joined easyJet two weeks ago after the departure of easyJet Holidays’ interim general manager and former Hoseasons product director Sara Zimmerman, one of the architects of the Lowcost deal.
Bodin, who started in his new role last Monday has been made Lowcost’s director of strategic alliances which includes easyJet Holidays, the joint venture launched in March. Prior to his time at Jet2 Bodin has worked in roles for Virgin Holidays, First Choice Holidays and easyJet.
Lowcost said he will be responsible for strategic partnerships across the group in particular the partnership with easyJet Holidays. Bodin said: “I am really looking forward to leading this working relationship into one that successfully challenges the big two.
“The combination of the Low Cost Travel Group’s fantastic technology and product range combined with the easyJet brand and reach is a very exciting proposition.”
Paul Evans, chief executive of the Lowcost added: “Richard has a wealth of experience from working with some of the most well known brands in the UK travel industry and I am delighted to announce his appointment.
“We have exciting plans across the company and Richard’s experience will be invaluable to the group.”
