Tipto reports late bookings trend for Easter break

Tipto members are reporting a surge of late bookings from customers looking to take advantage of the two successive long weekends.

In a poll conducted last week, 70% of members said they were seeing last-minute bookings for the Easter and royal wedding period.

Members said more than 40% of the customers who had booked an Easter break had done so as an additional holiday to their traditional summer getaway.

The Bourne Leisure brands, which traditionally see an upturn at this time, have seen an upsurge in sales.

Head of sales for Bourne and Tipto chairman Allan Lambert said: “We are delighted that the extended break is providing another revenue opportunity for our members and the industry.

“While times are undoubtedly difficult, this is a good chance to increase revenue and secure incremental sales on top of the all-important summer market which we expect to be a very late market.”

Operators are promoting special offers to further boost last-minute bookings.

Superbreak still has availability for its three night Royal Wedding Package to London, which costs from £249 per person including accommodation, rail travel and a flight on the London Eye.

Hoseasons is targeting the family market with its Easter Boredom Busters campaign offering Go Active domestic breaks for families.

Brittany Ferries has started offering packages to Disneyland Paris starting from £456. It is also now sailing to Spain five times a week thanks to the new Portsmouth to Bibao route.
