The leader of British Airways cabin crew held “positive” talks with the airline’s chief executive, a joint statement said yesterday.
The declaration is being seen as another sign the long-running dispute is coming to an end.
The two sides announced last week that a deadline for setting fresh strikes which could have hit Easter flights had been put back by 28 days to allow further negotiations.
New Unite general secretary Len McCluskey and new BA chief executive Keith Williams have recently held “exploratory talks” and both men were described as being “committed to seeking an honourable and fair settlement”.
Unite is holding out for restoration of staff travel, an independent review of disciplinary procedures and measures to address concerns on “earnings and lifestyle” associated with changes in onboard crew numbers.
