Royal Caribbean has ‘no plans’ to change payment terms

Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines says it has no plans to follow Complete Cruise Solution in raising deposits and bringing forward the date customers must pay the full balance on their bookings.

UK and Ireland associate vice president and general manager Jo Rzymowska said there are no current plans for Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Club Cruises to change their deposit or payment terms.

She was reacting to Travel Weekly revealing that from June 1 CCS will ask agents to collect 15% deposit instead of the current 10%. The final balance will be due 90 days before departure, instead of the current 56 days.

The change will apply to 2012 P&O and Cunard cruises and follows the Carnival UK sales arm cutting commission to a flat rate of 5%.
