Broccoli re-elected to Abta board

Daniele Broccoli, managing director of Britaly Travel, has been re-elected to the Abta board of directors.

Broccoli won more votes than Knock Travel proprietor Doreen McKenzie to represent members with a retail turnover of less than £20 million. The pair contested the same position in 2009, when Broccoli won.

Broccoli, who has served on Abta’s board since 2006, hopes to continue to be the voice of independent agents. “I work on the front desk and it’s important the board knows what we, as agents, go through,” he said.

Sue Foxall of Kinver Travel Centre has been elected to the Council of Regions representing members in the Midland region. She replaces Michael Knowles, who was chairman of Stratford upon Avon agency Complete World Travel, which ceased trading in March with the loss of eight jobs.
