Latest Carnival ship to sail around Europe

Carnival Cruise Lines has confirmed its next new ship Carnival Breeze will sail in Europe following its launch next year.

The sister vessel to the recently introduced 3,646-passenger Carnival Magic, Carnival Breeze will run a series of 12-day Mediterranean fly-cruises from Barcelona with prices starting at £899 per person.

The cruises will run from June 15 to October 25, 2012, with the exception of an August 26 voyage from Venice.

The 12-day Mediterranean cruises include stops at Marseilles or Monaco, Livorno, Naples, Dubrovnik, Venice, Civitavecchia for Rome and Messina.

June 15 and September 7 departures will add stops in Palma while August 14 and 26 departures will visit Olbia in Sardinia.  Selected cruises will include an overnight stay in Venice or Rome.

Like Carnival Magic, which is sailing out of Barcelona this summer, the 130,000-ton Carnival Breeze will feature an aqua park, sports and fitness area, a wraparound promenade with whirlpools extending over the ship’s sides, and a 270-square-foot poolside LED film screen.

Company president and chief executive Gerry Cahill said: “Not only will Carnival Breeze introduce exciting new features and a highly creative island-inspired interior design that pays homage to the world’s most popular cruising region, we’ve put together itineraries that provide our guests with the opportunity to visit a huge array of stunning ports of call throughout the Caribbean and Mediterranean.”
