BRITISH Mediterranean has promoted Angus Saunders from financial controller to the newly created position of finance director.
The move sees Saunders joining chief executive Des Hetherington and four non-executive directors on the British Mediterranean board headed up by chairman Lord Hesketh.
Saunders joined the airline in 1994 with responsibility for setting up financial systems and internal control procedures.
News of his appointment comes as the carrier reported a record first quarter performance with passenger numbers up 12%. The airline carried 46,432 passengers between April and June compared with 41,600 during the same period last year.
