Escorted tours specialist Journeys of Distinction has started working with the travel trade for the first time in its 35 year history.
The luxury operator has appointed former Wendy Wu Tours’ business development manager Sue Copper, who has 30 years experience in the industry, to head up its move into the trade.
Having previously worked for Britannia Airways, Eurolines and Wallace Arnold, she has taken up the role of agency sales manager.
She will develop new relationship with travel agents as she introduces the operator’s product to the trade for the first time since the firm was established in 1976.
Karen Gee, Journeys of Distinction’s managing director, said: “We’re very pleased to have Sue on board.
“She has exceptional understanding of the travel industry and firsthand experience of long haul travel and escorted touring holidays. She’s going to be a real asset for us as we move into trade sales for the first time”.
Copper added: “I’m delighted to have this exciting opportunity of launching Journeys of Distinction’s fabulous touring holidays to the travel trade. This is a major milestone for the company and one that I’m very pleased to be a part of.”
Journeys of Distinction was bought by Kuoni in 2006 but operates independent of the group.
