Butlin’s and Warner Leisure Hotels to remain closed until July 2

Butlin’s and Warner Leisure Hotels have announced they will now remain closed until July 2.

The decision follows that of sister brand Haven, which has also extended its closure date until July 2.

The three Butlin’s resorts were due to open on June 8 while Haven and Warner hotels were due to reopen on June 1.

The decision by parent company Bourne Leisure to further delay the reopening of all three brands comes despite the slight easing of the government’s lockdown restrictions.

But in a statement regarding its Butlin’s resorts in Bognor Regis, Skegness and Minehead, the company said it remained optimistic it would be able to open its doors soon.

It said: “Following on from the latest Government announcements, we’re now working through what the proposed plans mean for Butlin’s.

“We’re hopeful that we can open again in the not too distant future but in the meantime, we’re extending the closure of our resorts until the 2nd July 2020.”

The company is offering holidaymakers the chance to rebook or cancel and receive a refund for all breaks that have been booked for the period until July 2, with the brands currently due to re-open for business on July 3.

The company has launched a Coronavirus Book with Confidence guarantee but is urging customers to wait until 28 days before their arrival date before getting in touch.

The statement added: “Our team are working from home so it may take a little longer to get back to you than we would like, but we have been able to help the majority of guests affected to date, either to find a new break in the future or process a refund. “

The company said it would continue to review the situation and will continue to post the latest information on its brands’ individual websites and Facebook pages.
