Resort development company Minoan Group is to take over the management of Scottish agency Stewart Travel Centre.
The group, which also bought King World Travel in March, has signed a management agreement with owner Willie Stewart for the future operation of the agency.
Minoan has also acquired a 19.5% interest in Stewart Travel Centre for £278,000.
Stewart Travel Centre, which also trades as Scotland’s Cruise Centre, was formed in 1972 and employs 80 people. It comprises three retail shops in Ayr, Prestwick and Troon. The business also includes Stewart Corporate Travel, a golf department and an affinity division.
The agency is a member of Advantage Travel Centres and Willie Stewart is chairman of the consortium.
Minoan chairman Christopher Egleton said: “We are delighted to have added Stewart to our growing family of distribution businesses.
“The management agreement will allow us to assist Stewart, initially via our Cruise 118 agreement, and I am sure Willie Stewart’s knowledge and experience will be invaluable in our plans for the future.”
