Butlin’s has pushed back its reopening by a further two weeks and will remain closed until July 16.
Parent company Bourne Leisure had hoped to reopen its three resorts on July 3 but said it was currently “working through” the latest government announcements on easing the lockdown and what the plans meant for Butlin’s.
The company said: “We’re hopeful we can open again in the not too distant future but in the meantime, we’re extending the closure of our resorts until July 16.”
The company is working through bookings which have been cancelled in date order.
In a statement it said: “Our team are working from home so it may take a little longer to get back to you than we would like, but we have been able to help the majority of guests affected to date, either to find a new break in the future or process a refund.”
A new guarantee has also been launched for all guests with an existing booking. The Coronavirus Book with Confidence Guarantee gives the option to amend bookings, cancel or request a full refund.
The company has asked those with future bookings for Butlin’s to wait until 28 days before their arrival date before getting in touch with the company to discuss their options.
