All hands on deck for christening of NCL ship

NORWEGIAN Cruise Line’s new ship, Norwegian Sky, already boasts a number of unique attractions, such as its Internet cafe, and now Backchat hears its official christening will be another first for the cruising industry.

The bosses at NCL have been searching long and hard for someone befitting enough to carry out the prestigious christening ceremony on November 12, but have been unable to find someone suitable.

So, for the first time in cruising history, the honour will be bestowed on all of the ship’s employees.

Officers and crew will all stand on the dockside to take part in what NCL is calling ‘the world’s first all-employee christening of a cruise ship’.

Where it is going to get a bottle of champagne big enough for the occasion is another matter, Backchat thinks.
