Thai Airways places $4bn aircraft order

Thai Airways International is to acquire 37 Boeing and Airbus aircraft worth almost $4 billion by 2017. It will also obtain 22 aircraft under operating leases.


The Thailand flag carrier’s order includes:



  • Six Boeing B777-300ERs for delivery in 2014 and 2015

  • Four Airbus A350-900s for delivery in 2016 and 2017

  • Five Airbus A320-200s for delivery in 2014 and 2015

The airline will use working capital to fund the aircraft procurement, it said in a filing to the Thailand stock exchange.
