Air Malta has opened its reservation system and launched a summer 2020 schedule based on a ‘safe corridor’ concept.
The airline has put flights to Catania in Italy, Frankfurt, Munich, Dusseldorf and Berlin, all Germany, Prague in Czechia and Luxemburg on sale with services to begin from July 1 and flights to Zurich and Geneva in Switzerland the week after.
No UK airports are included on Air Malta’s initial list of ‘safe corridor’ destinations, but the airline has been operating what it calls ‘lifeline’ flights to London, Amsterdam, Frankfurt and Rome for three months – and those services will continue.
The airline said: “Air Malta is excited to start welcoming scheduled passengers again and looks forward to flying over 150,000 passengers between our European destinations and Malta in collaboration with the Malta Tourism Authority, Malta International Airport and the Malta Hotels and Restaurants Association.”
Package holiday arm Air Malta Holidays is due to add packages in the coming weeks and the airline is due to launch a social media campaign in the next few days.
