Ryanair warning over baggage handler strikes

Ryanair is warning that it is “highly unlikely” to be able to accept checked bags from Girona airport today (Friday) due to a strike by baggage handlers.

The no frills carrier said it had a contingency plan in place to allow flights to operate as scheduled from the Spanish airport. But it warned that it had been advised of further possible action by baggage handlers over the next three days.

Passengers booked on these dates who have paid a checked bag fee but now want to travel with hand baggage only can apply for a refund of the fee, the airline said. Checked bags will be allowed as normal on flights to Girona today.
