Ryanair is to operate to the main airport for Venice throughout the summer due to runway work at Treviso airport 19 miles away from the city.
The no-frills carrier is to fly to Venice Marco Polo, a short boat or bus ride from the Italian city centre, until September 30. The switch has been forced on the carrier by essential runway work which has closed Treviso for the summer.
